It is Sunday evening and you can smell another Monday just around in some few hours time. It is not a good feeling at all. How you wish Monday never comes, but funny enough Mondays will always show up  even when you are not ready or pleased.
You can hear Monday teasing ” Ready or not, here I come, you can’t hide!
If you identify with the analogy above, know that you are not alone, yours truly, #rolandoforispeaks also dreads Mondays, but it has become a necessary evil we need to find ways of enjoying.
Work and happiness seems to  be very elusive, truth be told, only a few of us enjoy what we do at work.
Nevertheless here are some reasons to inspire you to love your work
# Your Work Pays the bills
Though you might not enjoy your work, you can take solace in the fact that it gets the bills paid. You don’t want to be in the situation where you can’t to pay for your rent, water, electricity bills, fees and other basic requirements. Nothing will drive you to your early grave than inability to meet your basic needs in life.
At least work ensures you are able to meet these requirements so going forward, you need to show some love and commitment towards your work.

#Maintains discipline

The good old adage that “the devil finds work for idle hand” is so true. Working makes you disciplined, it ensures you don’t sleep too much, gives you focus, injects some pace and sense of urgency in you and most importantly your work teaches you how to meet deadlines and be time conscious.

#Helps keep your sanity

Man was wired to work. Even God worked for 6 days and rested on the 7th day. A man without work will lose his sanity in the long run. Your sense of worth is tied to the work of your hands.

#Reduces domestic issues based on money

At the  root of most domestic problems is lack of money. The beauty of family and marriage is always marred when there is no regular source of income. The source of income is the work of your hands. Vices like wayward children, runaway fathers and abuses mostly are linked to poverty. Hence working is not such a bad idea if the money generated helps curb the aforementioned issues.
#It gives you Respect
In our part of the world, it is unacceptable for a grown man to be without work. Even if your parents left you enough riches which warrants that you won’t need to work to make ends meet, you are still expected to work. You have no respect and dignity in your society if you have no work. I am telling you that you don’t want to be in a situation where you are looked down upon by your own family because you don’t work!
#Build connections and network
Success in life is mainly dependent on  the number of people who know your skills and worth. Our work provides us that platform to connect to a lot more people. It broadens our perspective and helps us form life long bonds and friendships we can rely on in the future.
#Contribute to National development via income
As a citizen, you are an asset to the Government when you work, because  you contribute your tax which is the major income of the Government. However, without work you are a sorry liability  which the Government must take care of through social interventions.
The only way we can make our nation better is when  we work diligently.
#Someone wants your job already
Your job is not as worse as you think. For any job being despised, there is someone out there prepared to do the same work for half the salary you are  being paid.
#It adds value to you
One of the easiest ways to add value to yourself is through the work you do. Your work gives you the opportunity to access training programmes you otherwise couldn’t afford.
Your employer invests a lot of knowledge in you to make you more efficient in the delivery of your work.
The good thing is that the knowledge you acquire remains yours for life and it positions you for a life of opportunities and advantages than the average Joe on the streets

#It opens your eyes to a world of possibilities.

There are so much business opportunities you will never be aware of until you work with a corporate body. When I started my career I was amazed at the different suppliers and agencies who work for my company and the kind of monies they were paid. Such exposure can easily set you up as a successful entrepreneur if you so desire. A good job will also give you the opportunity to travel and interact with different cultures.

Despite the apathy you have towards your work, it is far better than not working at all. It is not just about the money, but the value it adds to you and the immense exposure it affords you.

Give your best shot going forward and remember the saying from the good book that “Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom”- Eccl 9:10(NLT).
