As we start the journey of 2016, we need to understand the dynamics of the year AD 2016 to help shape our choices ,expectations and actions. Knowing what is in store for the year 2016 will place you in a great position to make the best out of it and also give you competitive advantage over your fellows.
FACT # ONE: IT IS A YEAR OF PURSUIT
This is the year of Pursuit. Anything worthwhile will not come to you by passivity, but rather by pursuit
Good things they say come to those who wait, but the truth is that the best things come to those who pursue.
Move your dreams into action. Even God in making a giant, will start from a sperm to a fetus to a baby after nine months and gradually get His giant. There is nothing wrong with starting small if you have the big picture in mind.
Today’s earth contains over 7 billion inhabitants, but yet God started with only 2 people-Adam and Eve.
Do Something in 2016.
FACT # TWO: IT IS A YEAR OF SECOND CHANCE
The number 16 is the double of the number 8- which represents new beginnings. It implies that never stop at trying something until you succeed in 2016. Don’t give up easily in 2016.
It is a year which you have to face your fears, go back to the things you have failed at before and try it one more time, pray that prayer one more time, praise God one more time and you will be amazed at the results which will come your way. There is a special dispensation of grace available for those who have the courage to try again in 2016. Take advantage of it.
FACT # THREE: YOU WILL NEED ALL YOUR TALENTS AND SKILLS IN 2016
None of us is only good with just one thing. We all have multiple talents but we get boxed up through schooling and working environment which try to define and tag us with titles. This has dire psychological effects on us, limiting us and causing us to give up on all the other talents God has endowed us with. So if you are a CEO but have a gift of singing, find a choir and join. If you are an accountant and yet you have the flair for writing and poetry, don’t hold on to it. Throw everything you have got in you at 2016 and see the multiple rewards and blessings which will come your way. David became King in Israel but what gave him access to the palace was his cunning ability of playing the harp. God will connect you to Kings and princes who need your talents as you begin to use them. Remember, a man’s gifts will make room for him.
FACT # FOUR: 2016 IS THE YEAR OF INFLUENCE
This year will reward those who consciously build their network of influence, don’t be shy to get people’s attention this year. Go out there and meet new people. Let everyone know the skills and talents you have got. Be loud and unapologetic about it. Put your thoughts out there through books and blogs like I am doing right now. Be bold and have an opinion on issues discussed at management meetings. Do something at your church or any organization you find yourself.
Be visible, be seen, be heard and be known in 2016.Your life will never be the same again if you do these things.
FACT # FIVE: 2016 IS FOR THOSE WHO WILL FOCUS ON THEIR STRENGTHS AND NOT THEIR WEAKNESS
There is no time for you to fret on the things you cannot do in 2016. This year has no place for those who will spend time worrying about their weaknesses in certain areas of their lives. The truth is that there is nothing wrong with you which cannot be fixed with something which is right about you.
Your good side greatly outweighs you negatives. We all struggle with weaknesses just to remind us that there is a God out there who we need to depend on. God told Paul that His grace was sufficient for him and his strength is made perfect in weakness. So why do you want to take the job of God?
That is not to say that go out there and be irresponsible, but day in day out, pursue perfection in every facet of life and leave the rest to God. A child does not walk the same day it is born. Even Usian Bolt had to learn how to sit first, crawl on all fours, walk and fall several times until he became that dreaded athlete we have all grown to love.
If you fret about your weakness, you are like a senior high student who scores 7As in the WAEC examination but fails in one of the subjects and as result of that single failure that child decides to give up on furthering his education at the University. If you are that child’s parent you will tell him no way! You aint giving up on yourself because of a single failure, you will ask him to focus on the 7As to let him appreciate how good a student he is and with that motivation encourage the child to re- sit the paper he or he has failed.
God is demanding same from you in 2016. What are you waiting for?
FACT # SIX: 2016 WILL REWARD THOSE WITH EXPECTATIONS
It is said that most people will remain poor because they never expect to be rich.
The good book clearly hints that the expectation of the righteous shall not be cut short! Anytime Jesus encountered a sick person, He still went ahead to ask then their expectation of him.
You must expect good things to happen to you. In this present world it is very difficult to maintain a positive outlook in life. Nevertheless there are several proven ways by which you can fuel your expectation. This includes, prayer, giving, investing in yourself, knowing God’s promises concerning you through the rigorous study of His word, reading good books, associating with the right people and listening to good messages.
Expectation is simply Gods invitation to greater possibilities he has ins store for us. Don’t turn down this invitation. Expect something good to happen to you in 2016.
FACT # SEVEN: GET HELP IN 2016, DON’T DO IT ALL BY YOURSELF
No one is an island on his own. We are all wired as social beings; the best of you will never materialize if you play solo. Collaborate more in 2016. One man initiatives won’t thrive in 2016.Share the vision with others and empower them to bring it to pass. Even the world’s best players like Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo still need the help of other ten players and a coach to bring the best in them!
That one man mentality deeply embedded in the fabric of the average Ghanaian must die in 2016. Give people the benefit of the doubt, trust people, some will disappoint you and others will stick with you. Those who will disappoint you will teach you invaluable lessons you will require later in life.
No matter your past experience, you have no right to do it all by yourself in 2016. Get some help
FACT # EIGHT: GOD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS- HE WILL LOOK OUT FOR YOU IN 2016
Finally, it reassuring to know that, though 2016 will come with a lot of challenges and strange happenings, things none of us ever envisaged, you don’t have to be afraid, for God knows those who are his.
For a thousand will fall on you left and ten thousand to your right, but only with your eyes will you see the reward of the wicked.
Nevertheless, the foundation of the Lord stands sure, having this in mind that the Lord knows those who are his, therefore let everyone who call upon the name of the Lord depart from evil. Live right no matter the challenges and temptations which comes your way and see God take care of you in ways you never imagined.
